Lille and its surroundings hold a wide variety of museums and other monuments, not to be missed.
- The Cathedral Notre Dame de la Treille (gothic style from the XIIIth century): the main façade, inaugurated in 1999. Designed by Lille architect Pierre-Louis Carlier, it is the result of an amazing technical feat, made possible by the help of Peter Rice (engineer of the Sydney Opera House and the Centre Pompidou in Paris).
